The Challenge
Healthcare organizations often struggled to produce consistent, professional video content for patient education, internal communications, and marketing. Traditional video production was costly and time-consuming, requiring multiple shoots and specialized equipment. There was no scalable way to create templated, on-brand videos that could be easily customized for different audiences. Essentially, it wasn’t cost-effective or practical to leverage video as a regular communication tool.
The Design Solutions
I designed Cyrano Storyboards to function like a “Mailchimp for video,” giving healthcare systems a templated and scalable way to create video content. With Storyboards, users select from a range of pre-built templates for marketing messages, doctor bios, pre-op instructions, or internal updates. Each template includes customizable recording tasks and a storyboard view that allows users to edit scenes, rearrange prompts, and apply brand elements.
Once recording tasks are sent, participants use the Cyrano Studio App to record all messages in a single session. We handle editing, apply lower thirds, add logos and branding, and deliver finished videos in multiple formats, including landscape for YouTube, vertical for TikTok or Instagram, and square for other platforms. It is a one-and-done recording process that produces a full suite of polished, on-brand videos.

I created a user-friendly flow that lets users quickly choose from pre-made storyboard templates. This approach reduces friction and makes the creation process approachable for everyone, whether they’re doctors or marketing teams.

I designed an intuitive drag-and-drop interface for customizing scenes. Users can rearrange scenes, add transitions, and incorporate existing footage easily. This makes the whole process flexible and lets them personalize their videos without hassle.
3. Recording with the Cyrano App
Streamlining the Recording Process
I designed the recording flow so users can complete tasks efficiently in the Cyrano Studio app. By following simple prompts and using a Bluetooth remote, they can record everything quickly and seamlessly. This design choice saves time and makes recording super user-friendly.
4. Post-Production and Review
Enhancing Collaboration in Post-Production
In the post-production phase, we designed a collaborative review system where users can give direct feedback on footage. I was also working towards introducing AI-assisted editing as an option in the future, so users will eventually be able to choose between professional editors or a more automated approach depending on their needs.
5. Sharing the Final Video
Simplifying Video Distribution
Finally, I designed an easy sharing interface that lets users distribute their finished videos with a single click. Whether they’re posting to social media or embedding on a website, the process is straightforward and user-friendly.
The Results
Cyrano Storyboards transformed how healthcare organizations use video for communication. By simplifying production to a template selection and single recording session, organizations reduced production costs, shortened time to delivery, and scaled video creation without added complexity. Teams could now publish consistent, branded video content across multiple platforms, from YouTube to Instagram, with minimal effort.
